Chatroom Rules
These rules keep the room open for strong debate without letting the conversation turn into harassment, doxxing, or disruption.
Required Standard
All chatters must comply with Paltalk's Terms of Service: https://www.paltalk.com/terms.
All rules may be overridden by a superadmin or the room owner.
If you feel an admin has red-dotted you unfairly or outside the rules, please send a private message to NeonShirtPockets with the context and which admin dotted you. They will review it accordingly.
Consequences
Breaking any rule may result in the following sequence.
First offense
Warning
Second offense
Dot, 5 minutes
Third offense
24 hour bounce
Repeated violations may result in a temporary or permanent ban.
Core Rules
- Banned slurs: N*gger, Sp*c, K*ke, F*g, Tr*nny.
- No doxxing or attempts to dox. This includes, but is not limited to, using a chatter's first name without permission, releasing phone numbers, sharing pictures, or exposing private information. Doxxing or attempted doxxing may result in a bounce or a temporary or permanent ban.
- No malicious personal attacks based on identity. Conversations about race, religion, bigotry, gender, and related topics are allowed, but personally attacking a chatter through those categories is not. Superadmins may use discretion during these conversations.
- No extreme personal accusations or harm statements. Do not accuse chatters of pedophilia or rape. Do not tell chatters to kill themselves, be killed, or direct that language toward others.
- No advertising other chatrooms. Advertising other rooms is not allowed.
- No donation requests without approval. Asking for donations is not allowed unless approved by a superadmin or the room owner.
Mic Time And Queue
- The mic time limit is 2 minutes. The speaker has 30 seconds to wrap up, for a total of 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Going over time results in an automatic dot.
- Pay attention to your place in the mic queue. If you do not take the mic within a reasonable time, roughly 10 seconds, your hand may be removed and the next chatter may be allowed to speak.
- No jumping the mic. Wait your turn in the queue.
- If you lose your place because of a disconnect or technical issue, admins may use discretion to try to return you to your original spot. Admins should not add chatters back into the queue simply because you were not paying attention.
- The only standing exception is chatter Buddhead. Because he is visually impaired, the room owner allows him to jump the mic.
Mic Topics, Recordings, Music, And Singing
- The mic is generally used to discuss topics. During dead air, or when no topic is being discussed, general conversation is allowed.
- Recordings may only be played for 30 seconds unless a superadmin or the room owner states otherwise. Recordings must be properly introduced and relevant to the current discussion.
- Chatters may not take the mic repeatedly to play the same recording or an extension of the same recording.
- Exception: NEWTNSHROOM is allowed to play up to 2 minutes of a recording.
- Music and singing are not allowed unless the room owner or a superadmin states otherwise.
- Exception: When telling a story or giving an example, 1 or 2 lines, up to 10 seconds, are allowed.
Preaching And Repetition On Mic
- No preaching on the mic. Discussions about religion, faith, and God are allowed, but preaching is not allowed from believers or non-believers.
- Do not take the mic just to repeat the same statement over and over. Highly repetitive mic use may be handled through the warning, dot, bounce sequence at admin discretion.
